Public Beta 2 Released
Since our initial public beta release, several issues have been pointed out as well as some feature suggestions. I'm pleased to announce that the requested features have been added, and the reported bugs have been mostly squashed. This release also marks the new GoMobile design, which was slightly updated from the original to make less-important items smaller and make the theme flow a bit more.

Since Beta 1, the following features have been added (in no specific order):

Quote:- Updated many images to be compatible with high-res phones & devices
- Updated style (namely table heads, the header, and the User CP)
- You can now limit which groups may use GoMobile, via the theme permissions setting when editing the properties of the GoMobile theme
- You can now use a custom breadcrumb title if your default one is too long (see GoMobile settings)
- You can now use a shorter & different homepage URL in the footer (see GoMobile settings)
- Closed threads are now highlighted in red
- Fixed issues regarding SEO URLs (not thoroughly tested)
- Fixed a bug where an image was missing

Larger boards may choose to remove certain features from their board, or hard-code them in, as currently the several additional queries made may affect the performance of high-traffic boards. When the gold release is made available, more information will be available on the documentation.

On that note, there are now two separate and detailed articles in our documentation which we encourage you to consult:

http://www.mybbgm.com/misc.php?action=help

If you are installing GoMobile for the first time, simply upload all of the files contained in the download package (see the Upload folder) and then activate the plugin in your AdminCP. For current users wishing to update, we currently don't have any update procedures integrated so you'll have to uninstall and reinstall as follows (following these steps is crucial as you will encounter errors otherwise):

Quote:1. First, uninstall GoMobile. Do not upload the new files or you will receive MySQL errors upon uninstallation.
2. Delete the theme and it's template set. You will lose all modifications, so make note of them before doing this.
3. Upload the new files.
4. Install & activate.

The download is available here, as always: http://www.mybbgm.com/download.php

As always, there may be bugs or issues with this as I haven't had time to thoroughly test it (though I can ensure it will install Tongue). If you encounter any, please let me know as soon as possible so I can correct them.

Thanks for your feedback and I hope you enjoy this second public beta Smile

- Chris

RE: Public Beta 2 Released
Uhm, I just tried updating using the above technique (un-install, delete theme and templates, re-upload, re-install). Now though, the MyBB GoMobile theme isn't being listed in the ACP straight away. I have imported the theme's xml file though and all seems fine - just thought I should tell you.

I've updated the package with a temporary fix, should work. All that needed to be changed was the XML's version number.

Can't get it working. Don't know what's up. I see the default theme instead of the GoMobile theme, even when I manually set it to GoMobile.

RE: Public Beta 2 Released
Haha, this is weird: when I access it from my phone it appears as the default theme, but when viewing it in my browser with the theme set to GoMobile it works fine.

Installed this as you said, I still have to install the XML manually, is that normal?

RE: Public Beta 2 Released
Hmm, no it's not. I believe it's caused by the XML file not being compatible with the lates version (1.6.1), but I've updated everything (though manually) and given it the correct version number. I might have to stick to editing through the editor since for whatever reason it doesn't seem to like when I make changes via manually editing the XML file.

I've enabled the version compatibility option for the import in the plugin so it shouldn't happen anymore.. but in the version you're running, you can set the proper TID in the settings then run the tid update tool on the GoMobile page (sidebar on the configuration tab). The tool works last I remember, just keep in mind it won't work unless you change the setting tid first.

It should work if you do the above, and also try clearing the cookies on your phone to make sure it's not forcing the normal theme by chance.

RE: Public Beta 2 Released
I find a problem.
I always changed the name of the theme, in this version if I change it, when I enter I see the normal version.

RE: Public Beta 2 Released
If you change the name after a successful install then it should still work.
