Parse error?

Ok, I'm gonna preface this by saying I have no idea what I'm doing, and know very little about HTML, MySQL/php, or any of the above.
![]() That said....I am trying to get MyBBgm working with a new version of my forum that we have started (got sick of dealing with phpBB and freeforums), and one of the necessities was to have a mobile version for the members to use. We had it working for about a week or so just fine, but needed to make some changes a few days back. Since then, everyone else can no longer log in on the myBBgm version, and I cannot log out. It gives this error before the header: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected string T_STRING in /home1/slcsubar/public_html/forum/global.php(499) : eval()'d code(1) : eval()'d code 1 on line 1 After clicking to logout, it gives an even longer message about not being able to edit header information, then goes back to the main theme screen. Any thoughts? |

RE: Parse error?
Do you have any other plugins installed? If so, can you please list them as well as mark which ones are activated?

I currently have: AjaxChat Shoutbox (0.3-beta) - installed, but not activated (I can't uninstall it) Askimet (1.2.1) - installed and activated MyBB GoMobile (1.0 Beta 4) - installed and activated HelloWorld! (1.0) - installed, but not activated (I can't uninstall it) MyShoutbox (1.5) - installed and activated PHP Template and conditionals (1.9) - installed and activated VIP membership (1.5) - installed and activated, but not being used. I think it may have happened when I had a friend modify the header for one of the themes (to center the header instead of giving it left justification), because it seems like after that is when it broke. Any thoughts? Ok, I had a friend help me out with it - when I go in and completely remove line 499, it seems to display just fine, with no errors...but he changed it back before I had the option to check a couple of things. What I am thinking is that part of the problem is that it is trying to load data from the old AjaxCaht Shoutbox that I tried to install and failed miserably at. |

RE: Parse error?
I am having the same issue. Since you haven't given ideas, and nobody has shared details, I will share mine!
New myBB install on Dreamhost. No content yet, just getting it ready to go live. MyBB Version 1.6.5 PHP Version 5.2.17 Plugins: Default Avatar (1.0) Email Admin-Created User (0.1) Forum Runner (1.1.2) MyBB GoMobile (1.0 Beta 4) Invitation Plugin (1.1) PHP and Template Conditionals (1.9) Ultimate Backup Utility (1.0) There have been some manual tweaks to password strength and to hide the stats and footer for guests on the home page. The error is : Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in ...trackergroupsd0tcom/forums/global.php(503) : eval()'d code(1) : eval()'d code on line 1 Line 1 in Global.php is <?php. Line 500-504: // Set up some of the default templates eval("\$headerinclude = \"".$templates->get("headerinclude")."\";"); eval("\$gobutton = \"".$templates->get("gobutton")."\";"); eval("\$htmldoctype = \"".$templates->get("htmldoctype", 1, 0)."\";"); eval("\$header = \"".$templates->get("header")."\";"); Line 503: eval("\$htmldoctype = \"".$templates->get("htmldoctype", 1, 0)."\";"); I don't know enough about php to know if there is anything funny about that line. I can view it, login and logout just fine, it just always has the error showing at the top. After getting all of that info entered, and testing the actions on a couple different mobile browsers, (Dolphin and Opera Mobile on a Droid 2, Verizon) I decided the next step would be to disable the plugins. So, I found that when PHP and Template Conditionals (1.9) is disabled, the parse error goes away, and re-enable it, and it comes back. I need that plugin for the stats and footer for guests control (unless there is a better way to hide the {$boardstats} and {$footer} for users that aren't logged in), and it is the cause of the other persons problem as well, so any way to make them play nice? I like your mobile theme, but I need my security too! Thank you, Ben~ |
