Template Upgrade?
Hi,

now that MyBB has a security update (1.6.6) I see "find changed templates" mentions some of GoMobile.
Since I didn't change anything, what's the quickest & safest way to get it straight?

RE: Template Upgrade?
Use the diff report to update anything horribly out of of whack. Some things will be nothing to worry about, such as the order of a lite or something, others may need to be added (such as variables to URLs). I'll get an update posted soon though.

RE: Template Upgrade?
May be there is a way to recreate the templates as if it was a fresh install?

RE: Template Upgrade?
You'd lose the whole mobile concept though.

RE: Template Upgrade?
Why?
When I first installed the plugin I didn't have to do anything with the templates, everything was done by the installation code of MyBBGM.
So my idea was something like that:
  • deactivate and uninstall MyBBGM
  • remove one file (or at least very few) so the plugin doesn't realize it was installed before
  • install & activate

What would be lost?

RE: Template Upgrade?
Oh, sorry, I misinterpreted.

Yes, you can do that, but you'd need an updated set of templates first (which I'll updated right now on github). I'll post instructions in a second..

Edit: The updated XML file is here:

https://github.com/Scoutie44/MyBB-GoMobile

Download the package, upload the inc/plugins/gomobile_theme.xml file over the old one. Next, delete the old GoMobile theme from your ACP, and uninstall the plugin (copy the User Agent string list from the settings if need be). Then simply reinstall and it should update everything without too much hassle.

Alternatively, delete the old theme, import the new one, and change the theme id in the settings.

RE: Template Upgrade?
ok, it wasn't THAT easy. Wink
The steps above did not recreate the theme!
So I followed the regular update procedure (uninstall, delete theme, upload all the files, install) - that did it.

BTW: When I delete the theme, the template set stays. Eventually this should be mentioned in the uninstall instructions?

Would be really cool if you could implement some kind of "upgrade theme/templates" in one of the next versions. Smile

However, thanks again for your efforts and support!

RE: Template Upgrade?
Not a bad idea, actually (the upgrade feature). I'll keep that in mind Wink

Also, you're right, I neglected to mention the template set - oops.
